Amazon was introducing a new sustainability brand language that had not yet been translated into long-form editorial. I led the creative direction of the 2023 Sustainability Report, developing a narrative and visual system that organized 98 pages of multi-stakeholder content into clear chapters, modular topic openers, and consistent treatments for metrics, charts, photography, tables, and callouts. The result brought greater clarity, rhythm, and a more open, human tone to one of the company’s most visible and closely scrutinized communications. The report’s visual and editorial system also informed the companion website; the site itself was designed and built by a separate team.
I worked directly with Amazon’s sustainability leadership, including the Chief Sustainability Officer, and cross-functional teams. My role covered the overall narrative and system approach, design direction across the report, direction of studio and design teams, and oversight of infographic development and execution.
